Until 1867, Arlington was known as
West Cambridge--and from 1842-1862 many changes were made between
the boundaries of West Cambridge and its neighbors; i.e.,
Charlestown, Winchester, Belmont and Cambridge. Perhaps these
changes contributed to the loss of the birth and death records
from 1835 to 1844.
