The Blandford vital
records comprise four volumes, covering the years
1737-1860. Additionally, eight trays of colored index
cards compiled by Doris W. Hayden are included in this
collection. It was difficult to adjust the camera to
some of the color combinations. Accordingly, some of the
cards were filmed twice to increase readability. See
fiches 11 and 12 for those that were refilmed.

Strangely, few deaths
were recorded in the town records. In 1947, Doris W.
Hayden recognized this deficiency and began compiling
names and dates from the various cemeteries in Blandford.
Her meticulous and thorough compilation of Blandford
cemetery records adds significantly to the completeness
of this collection.
