First settled in 1701,
Brimfield existed as a township as early as 1714 and was
established as a town 24 December 1731. Surrounding towns
now include Warren, Brookfield, Sturbridge, Holland,
Wales, Monson and Palmer. Notable citizens of the past
include Rev. Nehemiah Williams and Gen. William Eaton.
This fiche collection consists of 34 volumes of vital and
town records, including 1798 property lists for Holland,
Monson and South Brimfield (Wales).

Brimfield Book of
Records: Births, Marriages, Deaths 1727-1830.
Book 1.
Dates as early as 1696 and as late as 1838 and 1871 are
found in this book, with some of the earliest births
referenced to other towns. Most surnames are grouped
alphabetically, but nearly every letter of the alphabet is
repeated in several places. Thorough searching may be
necessary to discover desired entries. It may be well to
first consult the revised copies below, and then refer
back to this volume to verify data. Incidentally, except
for a few 1871 notes, most of the pages from 30-64 and 241
are blank.
