Egremont was established as a
district in 1760 and became a town in 1775. Unfortunately, the
earliest records for the town were lost in a fire about 1837.
From 1838 to 1987 there are seven data volumes and three
indexes. The indexes and four data volumes, on 16 microfiches,
are included in this collection.
