Besides town meeting minutes, these records include perambulations, petitions, "warnings out" (e.g., those of 1790-1791 on pages 30-35), requests for town assistance, pew sales, 1803 requirements for voters (male, age 21 or older, annual income of $10 or more), 1808 tax lists, 1813-1815 religious non-conformists. Interestingly, among those "warned out" in 1790 and 1791 were the families of Isaac Giddings, Jr. and Sr., who had been resident taxpayers since 1778; and the family of Zaccheus Giddings, a resident taxpayer since 1780, who married a Middleton resident in 1783, and served as a town assessor by 1792. Middleton Tax Assessments [not] 1731. 79 pages.

The correct date of this book is about 1798, as it reference the heirs of Timothy Fuller (who died Sept 1796), the heirs of Jonathan Richardson (who died March 1798), and widow Jerusha Nichols (who died Feb 1802). It is not a 1731 record; it lists residents who were not born nor in Middleton by 1731; e.g.; Zaccheus Giddings, born 1758 at Wenham, who lived 1780-1806 at Middleton. The record shows both occupant and owner of real estate; tells boundaries and acreage of the property; describes buildings, including the number of houses and their value; enumerates polls; and provides a value and tax assessment. Note: view this fiche sideways if possible.
