|
Millbury, formerly a part of
Sutton, was incorporated as a town in 1813. Some time later, in
1851, Millbury annexed a portion of Auburn. As the name implies,
mills played an important roll in the settlement of the town;
e.g., mills for the manufacturing of woolens, cotton goods, paper,
guns, scythes, boots and shoes. Surrounding Worcester County
communities presently include Worcester, Grafton, Sutton, Oxford
and Auburn.
