Monterey was established in 1847 from the southern part of Tryingham. Four volumes of vital records exist. Interestingly, Tyringham marriage records are included in the Monterey Intentions volume for those couples who lived within the Monterey boundaries before 1847. Apparently an early Monterey clerk extracted them from the Tyringham records.
