This annotated index to births comes from records of St. Mary's Church and the First Congregational Church, with occasional references to town records. Though births extend from 1732-1876, the predominant dates fall from 1849-1876. Few entries date from 1800-1848 and most before 1800 record baptisms in the Congregational Church. Besides name and date of birth or baptism, data usually includes names of parents (often with maiden name of mother) and references to the source of information.
