Sharon, known first as Stoughtonham, was incorporated 25 Feb 1783. Earlier, Stoughtonham became a district in 1765 and a town in 1775. Present surrounding towns are Foxborough, Walpole, Canton, Stoughton, Easton and Mansfield.

This collection contains 17 volumes of data and indexes. The earliest data books include vital records from 1727-1844 and town records from 1753-1826. Interestingly, the first events appear to be taken from the records of Dedham. Later Sharon records include marriage intentions from 1816-1907 and vital records from 1844-1900.
