Because of town boundary and name changes, any person living his or her entire life in this locale could have been born in Sudbury (before 1780), married in East Sudbury (before 1835), and then died in Wayland--without ever moving. Present neighbors in Middlesex County include Concord, Lincoln, Weston, Natick, Framingham, and Sudbury.

East Sudbury, Precinct Book #1, Birth Index 1796-1844, Book 3.

Note that this index extends over a greater time period than indicated by the title. References to the registers of 1843-1859 (fiche 15) and 1860-1892 (fiches 17-18) of the Wayland records are the major contributions of the index. Additionally, it indexes the original Precinct Book #1 for Sudbury, and combines the alphabetized copy found here (fiche 8) with another volume arranged alphabetically, Book 3 of the East Sudbury Records (fiche 11).

The title may show dates earlier than those actually referenced, as the book indexes only part of the intentions in Book 3--those of 1843-1852 (fiche 13). Further, this volume indexes about 66 pages of an unidentified Book of Intentions, possibly dated before 1843, but probably after 1852.
