Westborough, once the part of Marlborough called Chauncey, became a town in 1717. Surrounding Worcester County towns now include Northborough, Hopkinton, Upton, Grafton, and Shrewsbury. The birth of inventor Eli Whitney, in 1765, is recorded on fiche 2, page 42.
