Westport, a Bristol County seaport, was incorporated in 1787. It was taken from its neighbor on the east, Dartmouth. On the north, it is bounded by Fall River. Neighbors on the west, both in Rhode Island, are Tiverton and Little Compton. Adamsville, now Rhode Island, was one of the first villages in Westport. Farming, whaling and, later, milling were early occupations; predominant religions were Quaker and Baptist.

This is a volume of about 310 pages. Most records are of births and publishments/marriages from 1719-1829, but occasional deaths are also found. Some of the marriages occurred out of town.
